How We Help

We Make a Difference

At The Well Communities, support is shaped and delivered by people who’ve been there themselves – people who understand addiction, the justice system, trauma, and the challenges of starting over. With more than 60% of our team having once used our services, we truly understand the fears, hopes, and barriers that come with rebuilding your life.

We walk alongside you with empathy, honesty, and lived experience at the heart of everything we do.

Behavioural Change

Support to Make Meaningful Change

Our behavioural change programmes help you make practical, sustainable changes around drugs or alcohol. Guided by peer mentors who’ve walked the same path, you’ll learn new skills and strategies to move forward – step by step, at your own pace.

Our approach supports your whole wellbeing: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Whether your goal is abstinence, moderation, or harm reduction, we meet you where you are. Through therapy, counselling, peer support, training, and social activities, we walk alongside you as you build the healthier, happier life you deserve.

Carers Addiction Services

Addiction affects families as much as individuals. Our Carers Support Service offers connection, guidance, and understanding to those supporting a loved one.

We provide:

  • 1 to 1 support (in person or online)
  • Group sessions with others who understand
  • Practical tools for setting healthy boundaries
  • Support around self care and reducing enabling behaviours

Improving family relationships is central to our approach. Families play a vital role in recovery, and we’re here to support you too.

For full details about our inperson and online groups, email families@thewell2.co.uk or contact your nearest TWC wellbeing hub.

Recovery isn’t something you have to do alone.

Employment, Training & Social Enterprise

Through National Lottery funding, projects such as our Grow Your Own (GYO) project support people who are furthest from the labour market – helping them overcome fears, isolation, and barriers to work.

We believe everyone has potential. A lack of training or employment opportunities can hold people back from longterm recovery, so we work with local partners to offer:

  • Training
  • Volunteering
  • Work experience
  • Pathways into employment

We help you build confidence, skills, and a sense of purpose.

Online Support

Support When You Need It Most

If you’re struggling and need additional support, we offer a daily online mutual aid group – available 365 days a year.

Staff and volunteers are always present to provide a safe, welcoming space where you can share your experiences, ask questions, and connect with others.

For more information, contact your nearest TWC wellbeing hub or email info@thewell2.co.uk.
