Mental health support shouldn’t feel like an uphill battle. It shouldn’t involve long waiting lists, complicated referral forms, or the feeling that you have to reach a "breaking point" before someone will listen.
That is why we are so incredibly proud to announce that Hope Haven is now fully open in the heart of Whitehaven town centre.
As part of our commitment to the SMMILES project, we have been working alongside our partners to create a space that feels different. Hope Haven isn't a clinical office; it is a sanctuary on the high street where anyone aged 18+ in Whitehaven and Copeland can find a listening ear and professional support, exactly when they need it.
No Referrals. No Waiting Lists. Just Support.
The most important thing to know about Hope Haven is that the door is always open. You don’t need to see a GP first, and you don’t need an appointment. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, or just finding life tough, you can simply walk in.
Where to find Hope Haven: 📍 40 King Street, Whitehaven, CA28 7JN.
Hope Haven understands privacy matters, and while the centre is welcoming and open, they have private rooms available if you’d prefer a quiet space to talk about what’s on your mind.
Supporting You Day and Night
Mental health struggles don't keep office hours. That’s why Hope Haven is available seven days a week, including late-night support when other services might be closed:
• Monday – Friday: 9:30am – Midnight
• Saturday – Sunday: 4:00pm – Midnight
Can’t make it in person? We’re still here.
• Call us: Dial 01946 556 136 (available 9am – 5pm, Mon-Fri).
• Virtual Safe Haven: If you prefer to speak to us from the comfort of your own home, you can book a video call appointment between 4pm and midnight every day. Book your virtual session here.
A Vision for the Future
The energy at the recent opening day event was a testament to the power of partnership. Speaking at the launch, our Director Kellie shared their excitement for what this means for the local community:
It was great to spend the morning at Hope Haven, the beginning of mental health support right here on the high street. This is a result of great partnership working, and I’m looking forward to seeing it all come together. There is so much we can learn from this model as we look toward our services in Workington.
Don't Wait
If you’re reading this and things feel heavy: don’t wait. Whatever is affecting your mental health, Hope Haven is here to help. You don't have to navigate this alone. Come and see us at King Street, or reach out online today. 💚
