The rain started again, hammering on the hood of my cagoul. December rain in Lancaster is particularly unforgiving. I found sanctuary in a 'dug out' by the football pitches of Lancaster University, whilst all around people were peeling off layers of clothing revealing football kits.

Running for Recovery: Celebrating Wellness and Community
Thank you for joining us!
This weekend, our community came together for the 5K Recovery Run in celebration of Recovery Month -and what a day it was! 💜
From seasoned runners to first-time walkers, dedicated volunteers to enthusiastic supporters cheering from the sidelines, everyone played a part in making this event so special. The atmosphere was filled with energy, positivity, and a shared belief that recovery is not only possible but worth celebrating every step of the way.
Events like this are about more than the miles we cover. They are a reminder of the strength and resilience within our community, the importance of wellness, and the power of standing side by side in support of recovery.
As we reflect on Recovery Month, we’re reminded that each run, each clap, each word of encouragement adds to the bigger picture: breaking stigma, building hope, and showing that together, we are stronger.
To everyone who joined us - thank you. Your support and spirit help keep the recovery journey alive and thriving. Here’s to many more steps forward, together.
Baton of Hope - Whitehaven
Today in Whitehaven, The Well Communities stood proudly alongside Hope Haven partners at the Baton of Hope, united in a powerful mission to raise awareness of suicide.
The event was deeply moving and beautifully attended, a testament to the strength, compassion, and resilience that emerge when communities come together. Together, we proved that hope is not just a word - it's a force. And when we stand side by side, there’s no limit to the change we can create.
